The King Is Once Again The Ace
Felix “King Felix” Hernandez is once again the undisputed ace of the last place Seattle Mariners after 2010 All-Star Pitcher Cliff Lee is traded to AL Wester Division Leading Texas Rangers.
The Mariners also send over RP Lowe and cash and get Rookie 1B Justin Smoak and 3 minor league prospect including last 2008 first round draft pick SP Blake Beaven.
Switch Hitting Smoak is hitting .209 with 8 HR, 34 RBI, 57 SO, 38 BB in 235 AB and has 1 SB. Considered one of the top young prospects in MLB Justin was a late addition to the trade and what appears to be the final piece that made Mariners GM Jack Z pull the trigger and send Lee who was 8-2 for Seattle and in the final year of his contract to the Division Rival.
I would like to get some fan response from both Mariner and Ranger fans following today’s big trade. How do you feel? Who got the better end of the Deal?

Thank you, I appreciate that!

Hate to see Cliff Lee go, but had to be done in order to improve the team long term. Would love to see the Mariners resign him in the offseason, but the odds of that happening are about as likely as the Rangers resigning him. Mariners made out like bandits in the trade though so I view it as a positive move.
