Tate still has to learn this system until I think we see his true talent.

Ryan-
I like thunder and lightning too, thats the first I have heard it. I agree about the start, I am very happy sitting 2-2.
Julie-
Are you refering to the Cap money for next year that will be saved from the deals they have made this year?

Matt doesnt have the arm for a deep threat reciever. He is very inacurate after 20 yards and he has never been very good throwing the deep ball. His game has always been the short routes.

Let’s say a salary cap doesn’t return. Yahoo this week did an article saying Paul Allen is the richest owner in the NFL how would you feel if he turned into a Steinbrenner? What I mean with that is spending money to get good players to win. I would like it myself. I always loved the Boss and how he made the MLB so much more competitive than it was.

I would hate that system and even if it was in place there is no way that Allen would go to crazy, not like a Jerry Jones. He’s a business man and he likes to make money. There is no way he would hurt Vulcan for the Seahawks to win.

Winning brings in money. Look at the Yankees and YES and the fans that spend.

Brett–
Being a Blazers fan thru the Jail Blazer era…
Paul WILL Spend whatever he wants, if he has a good structure, and KNOWS it will improve the team.

Yes but New York is a much bigger market for one thing and for another in the NFL the national Channels get the rights to all games, that money is split between the teams.

Ryan-
That is a good point, but there is still a cap to what he, and other owners can do in basketball.
Very true, but my point is winning brings money. So if he were to spend for players who win he would get money back.

Paul is obviously willing to spend a lot of money, and this year is going to cost him way more then he makes because of paying Mora and all the players that are gone. What I’m saying is if the NFL were a free for all he would still run it like a business that generated money.
He would spend as much as he could responsibly
about 2 years ago
Correct, but what generates money? Top 10 picks or wins?

Soft cap in basketball.

Wins, I guess what I’m saying is he would spend good money but not crazy money, Jerry Jones, Dan Snyder and Al Davis would be the owners who acted like “The Boss”
Yes, but you can only pay each player so much money based on what the player made last year and if hes changing teams he makes less money. its just not a free for all like baseball is.

For the record, Paul has proven he will spend the money nesassary to build a winner and I am very pleased to have an owner willing to do that. I just don’t believe he would get crazy like some owners would.

Ryan,
Crazy is spending money that you wont recoupe. Crazy is running it like a hoby not a business.

Thanks brett for doing this! Hopefully we can do it another time!
I hope so too, maybe we should do one for every 1/4 of the season?
