Cardinals at Seahawks: Week 7 Game Preview
Arizona Cardinals (3-2, 1-0 T-1st NFC West) at Seattle Seahawks (3-2, 1-1 T-1st NFC West)
Stadium: Qwest Field
Announcers: Chris Myers (Play-by-Play) and Brian Billick (Color Commentator) FOX
Last Meeting: Arizona defeated Seattle 31-20 as Kurt Warner passed for 340-yards.
With a win the Seahawks could be in position to make some moves for sole position of first-place in the West. Matt Hasselbeck last week connected with Mike Williams for 10 receptions and this week expect some of the same thing if the running game can get going. Marshawn Lynch and Justin Forsett got things going in the Beast Mode and look for them to try and get that going again this week. The offensive line didn’t give up a single sack for the first time since opening day in 2009. Russell Okung is starting his second consecutive start this week and should start feeling familiar with the line and Hasselbeck. That will only help them out in the long-run. If the line does their job it will open the running game which should lead to the passing game opening up like last week.
The Seahawks are taking on a rookie quarterback in a loud and tough place for even veteran quarterbacks to play in. If the defensive can create the same blitz schemes like they did last week when they got to Jay Cutler six times look for Max Hall to have some trouble. However if Seattle treats him like they did to Sam Bradford it could be trouble for the Seahawks defense. Hall has weapons in Larry Fitzgerald and Walter Thurmond III will have challenges covering him. The defensive line has been on task lately with the coverage of the running game and hopefully that continues this week. The Cardinals are still the defending two-time NFC West Champions and Seattle has to take them seriously or it could be a long game.
